The season for hot chocolate is slowly winding down. As we prepare to say good-bye to heavy winter coats, freezing cold temperatures and high heating bills let’s whip up many a cup of comforting hot chocolate as the final weeks of winter approach. I found a fabulous recipe for dairy-free hot chocolate that substitutes coconut milk for regular milk. This innovative recipe was put together as a Valentine’s Day treat for the author’s husband who cannot have dairy--all he wanted for Valentine’s Day was hot chocolate. After countless recipes were put to the test and failed, this recipe came about through trial and error. The result was a creamy, decadent and rich cup of hot chocolate.
